Just read a really good post on Lifehack.org about how reading fiction can help you be more creative in all areas of your life:

I’ve been a big reader for many years, but have concentrated more on non-fiction. Susan is always reading a good book of fiction, and it has been working well for her.
The author, Joel Falconer, mentions using eBooks as a great way to find more time to read, since you can carry your PDA almost anywhere and use small blocks of miscellaneous time to read a bit. I would add using audiobooks as another great way to consume books during your commuting time or other such typically wasted time.
Another creativity booster is to start writing something every day. This could be filling up a personal journal, or trying to write short stories, a screenplay or even a novel. Take a look at http://www.scriptfrenzy.org/ or http://www.nanowrimo.org/ for some really neat ways to apply some creativity.
Where do you get your ideas, and how do you put them to use? Tell us in the comments.
