Just in from our Team Manager:

In addition to our home game on Saturday, September 12th at 11:30 AM
v. the USC 98 Girls Power, we now also have an AWAY game in Phenix
City on Sunday, Sept 13th against the RCSC Lady Rangers at 4:30 PM on
Sunday, September 13th. Sorry for the late notice, but this was just
recently added to our schedule by the AYSA, and one of our own very
alert parents noticed it only this morning. Please note that Phenix
City is 2 ½ hours away.

Here is Lizzie’s first goal of the season! It was during a shootout where her team won on PK’s.

OUCH! USA gave up 3 unanswered goals in the second half and let Brazil take the championship.

Here is the funny fish I caught. I believe it is a Ladyfish.

Just had my knee surgery this morning. Here is a set of pics from the arthroscope:

The torn area has been chopped out and won’t be bothering me any more.  I can already feel an improvement in my knee.

The Dr. said that I should be able to run again within 3-4 weeks.  I’m hopeful for a full recovery.

If has come to our attention that there will be a 5k run tomorrow in Trussville starting at 8am Saturday Morning and some roads will be blocked. The run should not last more than a couple of hours however below are two different ways to get to the fields that will allow you to avoid the blocked roads due to the run:

1. Interstate 59 to the Trussville United Soccer Park
From Interstate 59 go .2 miles and turn left on Green Drive,
pass Wendy‘s.
Take Green Drive 1.4 miles to stop sign and turn right on Trussville/Clay Rd.
Take Trussville/Clay Rd .3 miles and turn left on to Happy Hollow Rd.
Take Happy Hollow Rd .3 miles and turn right on Riverbend Rd.
Take Riverbend Rd. .4 miles to parking for field #5 on the left.
Continue past field #5 parking lot .2 miles to stop sign and turn left.
Fields are ahead.

2. I459 to Trussville united Soccer Park
Off inter sate take Highway 11 North for 4.5 miles.
Turn left onto Water Oak Drive (Sherman Oaks Subdivision)
Go .1 miles and turn left onto Black Walnut Lane
Go .3 miles and turn right on Redwood Dr.
Go .1 miles and turn left onto Palm Street.
Fields are straight ahead.
